![]() Like most species on the planet, quality of habitat dictates life for a Northern Pike. Pike range across much of North America and their cousin lives over in Europe. On the flanks, pike have multiple bean-shaped white to yellow spots. ![]() Pike vary in color from green to brown on the dorsal side to white on the belly. Dorsal and anal fins are located toward the rear of the body. The jaws have numerous teeth, sloping toward the rear. Pike are elongated with a large and flattened, duckbill-like head. A voracious predator, Northern Pike are known to eat muskrats, ducklings, loon chicks, mice and any fish in the lake it thinks it can devour. ![]() Whether it fits in their mouth or not, their eyes are sometimes bigger than their stomach. Northern Pike, the fish with an endless appetite and the cojones to attack anything that moves in the water.
